Upcoming Prayer Vigil at the ICE Detention Center at South Bay Correctional Facility!
Join the Parish of the Epiphany, Winchester, and many other Boston-area faith communities as we stand in solidarity with those detained by ICE in Massachusetts, and commit ourselves to taking meaningful action for justice.
Sunday, October 14 – 20 Bradston St., Boston, MA 02118 – 2pm
MCAN launched a bold campaign for immigration justice to proclaim that No One Stands Alone. Our tactics include:
- 1) Accompaniment – including attending ICE appointments with immigrants, raising money for bail to get the family -members out of detention;
- 2) Sanctuary – providing a family or individual with the protection of a congregation;
- 3) Policy change for the statewide Safe Community Act and local Trust Acts.
Currently there are undocumented immigrants in Sanctuary in Jamaica Plain, Cambridge, and Amherst. These immigrants have bravely shared their stories, and through the civil disobedience from congregations publicly supporting and protecting undocumented immigrants, we hope this will play a role in changing the larger narrative about immigration. MCAN has launched and trained a Sanctuary and Solidarity Network across the state of ten regional clusters that are driving the work locally.
