Tragic Shooting of Two ECCO Leaders

April 18, 2017

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves

those who are crushed in spirit.” ~Psalm 34:18

Our hearts are heavy, as we share this tragic news with you. Two Essex County Community Organization (ECCO) leaders were shot while walking home from Easter services. One man by the name of Leonardo (Lenny) Clement has passed away from injuries sustained during the shooting, while the other Prince Belin is currently hospitalized with a long road to recovery ahead.

As people of faith please join us in lifting up prayers of love and healing for their families during this most difficult of times. In memory of Lenny Clement, ECCO is launching their No One Stands Alone Fund, to help contribute to Lenny’s funeral and to support Prince’s recovery. Click here to contribute.

Also, at 7 pm today, ECCO will be gathering at the Zion Baptist Church in Lynn to support each other in an evening of sharing, mourning, prayer, and imagining a better future where all people are safe and can thrive.

Please Join if you can.

With Love in Action,

Cherish Casey
