Stand with Your Immigrant Brothers and Sisters This Week

June 8, 2017

Last month, a New Jersey grandfather named Catalino Guerrero faced a deportation hearing with ICE.  Catalino and his family were almost certain he would be torn away from them and deported.  But when our sister group, Faith in New Jersey organized 100 clergy to accompany him to his hearing with ICE, Catalino was sent home to live free in the U.S. for at least another year.

Like those clergy in NJ, as people of faith and conscience in MA, we have the opportunity and moral obligation to stand with undocumented immigrants and their families as they face increasing threat of deportation and separation.  I am writing to invite you to join us for two important opportunities for solidarity.

Safe Communities Act Hearing

Friday, June 9th, 10-3pm, State House, 24 Beacon St., Boston

Join us tomorrow to urge our legislators to pass Safe Communities Act, which would prevent state law enforcement from working with ICE to target undocumented immigrants.

Sanctuary and Rapid Response Training

Thursday, June 15th, 7pm, First Parish Beverly, 225 Cabot St. in Beverly

Join ECCO and the Beverly Multifaith Coalition to learn how you and/or your congregation can help create sanctuary for immigrants, by ensuring they can get much-needed social services, legal support, advocacy, and public witness.  Click Here to RSVP, and click here for the flyer.

In solidarity,

Dear Margie
